The Mid-Career Makeover

The team was amazing!! I’ve learned so much about myself and others. Scott Wimer is a great facilitator and leader. He keeps it open and lets people discuss and explore things on their own -- which is the sign of a really good group moderator. He was wonderful, and the group was wonderful! People really made progress in learning about themselves and going after what they want in their careers. Thank you… I truly appreciate the group!

The Successful Job Search
I heard about the EXACT teams in an email sent to alumni by the Parker Career Management Center. I had just left a position that I had been in for over 7 years and felt my job-hunting skills were rusty. During the eight-week program, Andrew guided the team members to realize that finding that next position is a sales project, where the product to be sold is me and what I can bring to a company. One of the biggest realizations for me was understanding that much of the hiring process is out of my control and so I need to focus on those few things that I can control. The group environment was very supportive and we all learned from each other. This program was terrific and helped me organize a new and, at times, bewildering process. Just after the final session, I was fortunate enough to receive two offers. The program isn't only for those alumni from the past decade or so. I graduated in 1976. So keep this program going! It's invaluable to the alumni, even if they don't realize it yet.

Andrew Johnson’s ExACT Program
I found the ExACT program to be just what I needed to help me jump start my job search.  Andrew Johnson’s recruiting experience, advice, tools and techniques helped me to develop a solid career search plan and connect with key decision makers in the job search process.  Additionally, I found the experience of working with other fellow MBA’s to be invaluable in that the group was collectively supportive of each others efforts and offered a variety of creative ways to approach the job search process.  Many of us either had or were close to receiving job offers by the end of the course.   An invaluable experience!

The Successful Job Search

New Format!  Lower Price!  Easy Access!
Experienced Alumni Career Team for the JOB SEARCH by CONFERENCE CALL .

So that our entire alumni network can work to find new JOBS, Andrew Johnson will lead a team of up to 15 participants via conference call for eight two-hour sessions starting March 27th at 6:00 PST.

Andrew Johnson’s ExACT is a structured approach to fine-tuning your resume, your "elevator speech", and your networking skills. Andrew has designed both his structure and his materials to work optimally via conference call.

As a result of the eight weeks, you will have:

  • An “elevator pitch” developed and critiqued by the team
  • A marketing plan you've discussed with the team
  • A target network of people who will help you find your next position in your career
  • Connections with hiring managers.

The Successful Job Search (ExACT) Team provides a work group structure that enables alums (both employed and in transition) to focus on managing the job search process by identifying tasks, setting specific work objectives, and measuring the progress of individual team members in meeting their job search and career transition goals on a weekly basis.

Successful job hunters approach their job search as they would a paid position, since conducting an effective search is virtually equivalent to a full-time job. One's dedication and results-oriented approach should be the same towards a job search as it toward managing a project, or toward participating as a project team member in a work assignment on the job.
